Start Something New...

Soo... its been quite a while since I've posted.. my apologies.. :) And quite a lot has happened since my last post.... First of all, my last post was our last game as "The Sandlot" :( pretty sad I know. But the next game was just impossible for us to get a team together. So, we had to forfeit... wasnt too fun. But oh well.. theres always next year right? :)

I went home for a weekend. Just to hang out with mi madre and some old friends from High School. It was a blast! Just backroads, bonfires, and old friends... :) Havent had fun like that in quite a while... Here's a few pictures from the evening!

THE CAMPFIRE!!!!

My Best Friend from High School, Charlie "Tweeder" Hensy and myself. :)

My Buddy Tyler Leaming and myself. Havent seen this kid since graduation!

So, For those of you that dont know about a certain Sister Missionary that was serving in our ward.. Sister Thaxtons her name... She was FINALLY transferred out of Stillwater!!!! YAYA!!! I mean that in the best of ways! She is now serving in a town called Lawton. Crazy girl that she is finally got out of Stillwater. We of course miss her dearly.. but it was her time! Along with a certain Elder... Elder Meissner.. He is now a Zone Leader in Wichita Falls, TX... we gave him some hard times about that because he will never get a true Oklahoma winter now since he's going home in November... But, hes from Montana... pretty sure he knows what snow is like! ;) These are some pictures from their last day in Stillwater.. :)

Osness, Medina, Evans, Meissner, Thaxton, Fleming... :)
So.. I think these boys play with knives WAAAAY too much..

This is probably the creepiest picture of Evans EVER!!!!

Those silly kids.. :)

Sister Thaxton and myself.. ya.. I cried.. but I didnt tell her that!!!

Okay... So, Dannah Orrs annual birthday campout.. I didnt plan on going.. then ended up going.. and I ate froglegs?... I blame Mitchell for that one.. ha ha.. but, they tasted just like chicken. Literally!!! we all sang some songs, watched the boys play with the boat.. and a good ole fashioned game of capture the flag.. :) It was a whole heck of a lot of fun.. At around 4 am we all finally decided hmm.. bed sounds nice.. then woke up around 8.. For most of us we didnt go home and sleep.. just did whatever.. And decided to play a pick up game of soccer.. I wouldnt suggest sleeping for only 3ish hours then playing 3ish hours of soccer later in the day.. Its kind of a killer.. ha ha.. But it was a lot of fun. I'll be the first to admit that.. Plus, I had an amazing team.. Laura and I were "team captains" I got Mitchell and Musonda in agreement that she could get Cory (her boyfriend) Thats just how it goes! ha ha.. oh well.. Heres some pictures and a video from the camp out!

This was actually a sunset we saw on the way home from the temple :)

Jessica Dobie and I took about a million of these pictures!!!

The MASSIVE smore Mitchell ate.. Sugar high anyone?

Mitchell attempting to eat the massive smore.. ha ha.. He tried to convince us afterwards that he wouldnt be able to sleep for a while.. obviously if you know Mitchell you know how unlikely that is.. ha ha.. He's a sleeper.. :)

There will be a video coming shortly.. my computer decided to be lame!! :(

Throw & Go..

The title of this weeks post is Throw & Go by Eli Young Band... The title is pretty fitting for what Im about to talk about... OUR FIRST PLAY-OFF GAME!!!! (which we won) It was a quite exciting game if I do say so myself... We started off pretty rocky.. but eventually figured out what to do.. :) At one point in the evening when I was up to bat, the ball was pitched pretty high above my head... and Jacob Hurst yelled out "Way to be short Miranda!" For the first time EvEr it paid off to be short. Because if I was taller it would have been a strike.. Yay Me!! ha ha We've had roughly the same batting order each time... Joe Roundtree is always our cleanup hitter, Im right after Joe and Mitchell Walser is right after me.. Joe made it around like he usually does.. I went up to bat, made it to first.. Then Mitch came up to bat, usually he gets me out at 2nd. Yes, I said HE... because he always hits it right past 2nd.. and I cant run THAT fast.. lol.. But this time was different.. He actually hit it way better than usual... But me not realizing this I stopped at 2nd as he was right behind me trying to get on 2nd.. So, I ran to 3rd.. and actually made it! apparently the ball was out of play or something like that.. Im not really sure what happened... but they let me walk home since I was already rounding to 3rd by the time they called the play. Mitchell had to stay at 2nd, but I had faith he would be brought home.. and at the next boy batter he was.. Jacob Hurst walked up to the plate and slammed a homer!!! YAY!!! In the very last inning of the game.. very last batter for the other team.. they subbed in a girl who hadnt played at all that game because she showed up late. They said shes played with them all season and was supposed to be one of their better girls.. They had a man on 2nd and 3rd. And 2 outs. They needed one run to tie, two to win... The girl hit a pretty good one... only it was a line drive to our amazing 1st baseman James Berry... Their amazing hitter lost them the game.. Im not complaining.. ha ha.. Our next game is scheduled for Sunday the 19th. Obviously since our ENTIRE team (minus one person) is LDS. We wont be playing on that day. So, we're switching our day if at all possible. The intramural department did it for the flag football team so theyre more than willing to do it with us. :) Im way excited!! I'll keep you all posted on how we do! :)

James Berry, Me, Laura Strauss, David Ayres, Mitchell Walser... Pretty sure Im the shortest person by about 7 inches and more in this group of people!

Me!!!

David Ayres... hes making it look like hes about to steal 3rd.. but stealing bases is illegal in intramurals. :)

This is probably my favorite picture out of the bunch.. Joe Roundtree...
And here's our team being good sports and shaking hands.. :) Its easy to be a good sport when you won!
